When to choose Siemens

Coriolis — SITRANS FC

Frequently Asked Questions

Is SITRANS FC made by Siemens or rebranded from another OEM?

SITRANS FC430 and FC410 are fully Siemens-designed Coriolis meters manufactured at the Siemens Flow Instruments site in Nordborg, Denmark (the former Danfoss Flow Solutions business, acquired in 2003). They are not rebranded.

What is special about the SITRANS FUH1010 IP clamp-on?

It is the only widely-deployed clamp-on ultrasonic flow meter rated for pipe wall surface temperatures from −40 °C up to +230 °C, using ceramic-coupled transducers. That makes it the default specification for retrofit work on superheated steam-condensate, hot-oil heat-transfer fluid and cryogenic ammonia / LNG lines where breaking process containment for an inline meter is undesirable.

Does SITRANS integrate with non-Siemens DCS?

Yes — every transmitter ships with HART, and most lines also support PROFIBUS PA, PROFINET and Modbus RTU/TCP. EDDL / DTM files are available for AMS Device Manager, PRM, and DeltaV Explorer. Integration outside the Siemens automation environment is straightforward but loses the native PROFIsafe / TIA Portal advantage.
