Endress+Hauser at a glance
Endress+Hauser is the most technology-balanced flow vendor in the market. Where Emerson skews to Coriolis through Micro Motion, E+H ships premium meters in every primary flow technology, and is alone among the majors in operating its own Coriolis, magmeter and ultrasonic production lines at scale.
Four characteristics drive most selections:
- Hygienic credentials — EHEDG, 3-A, FDA, ASME BPE wetted materials and dual-compartment housings are standard, not options.
- Hydrogen / low-density gas leadership — the Promass Q and Promass X have the lowest published zero-stability of any production Coriolis, which matters for hydrogen mass measurement and refuelling.

Coriolis — Promass
The Promass family is the broadest single-vendor Coriolis range:
- Promass F — the workhorse. Twin-tube, balanced sensor, ±0.05% of rate liquid mass, ±0.25% of rate gas mass. The benchmark for general process Coriolis.
- Promass Q — quad-tube architecture, lowest zero-stability in the catalogue, the go-to for hydrogen refuelling, R744 CO₂ trading and entrained-gas hydrocarbons.
- Promass X — large-line custody transfer (DN150 / 6" through DN400 / 16"), API MPMS / OIML certified.
- Promass A / I / S — small-line, low-flow and hygienic Tri-Clamp variants.
- Promass O — high-pressure (up to 414 bar) for upstream chemical injection and hydraulic fracturing services.
Electromagnetic — Promag
The Promag family is similarly deep:
- Promag H — hygienic with full ASME BPE / 3-A coverage, PEEK or PFA liner. Standard in pharma and biotech.
- Promag P — process duty, PTFE or PFA liner, the default for chemical service.
- Promag W — water and wastewater workhorse, MID R49 / OIML R49 custody approved.
- Promag L — large-line water with hard-rubber liner, the cost-effective choice for trunk-main duty.
- Promag D — wafer-style, short installation envelope for retrofits.
Vortex, ultrasonic and thermal
- Prowirl F / R 200 / 300 — vortex with optional integrated multivariable mass / steam compensation; well-rated for saturated and superheated steam at moderate Reynolds.
- Prosonic Flow E / G / W / B — inline ultrasonic for liquids and gas; the Prosonic Flow 90 / 93 clamp-on for retrofit on water and most hydrocarbons.
- t-mass T / F / 65 / 6700 — thermal mass for compressed air, biogas, natural gas, nitrogen; the most accurate published thermal mass on biogas.
